Are You Biking to Work on Friday?

Pit Stop at Reston Town Center will feature food, speakers and prizes.

Rep. Gerry Connolly (D-11th) will be among the cyclists at for the pit stop on Greater Washington's Bike to Work Day on Friday.

The National Capital area will be host to more than 50 bicyclist pit stops. Reston had more than 400 bikers last year, one of the busiest pit stops.

“I hope the events encourage prospective new riders to rethink the way they commute,” said Connolly.  “Biking to work is a great way to commute and more Northern Virginians, including members of my staff, are using this healthy and efficient option.  It is not only a healthy, cost effective mode of transportation, but it also allows you to avoid the hassle of Northern Virginia’s traffic congestion.”
