Happy Birthday, Reston Patch!

Wow, have we grown in two years.

Happy Birthday to Reston Patch! We turn two years old on Aug. 12.

It seems like just yesterday I was visiting businesses and meeting residents and telling them there was going to be a website dedicated to just covering Reston.

Some of the reaction I received: Is Reston that newsy? And secretly, I wondered the same thing since we were a start up and the first Patch site in Virginia.

Two years later, we can emphatically say "yes, it is that newsy."

These days, the feedback I usually get is "I don't remember what we did before Patch."

Indeed, Reston is a newsy place. We've got the Metro coming to town and we're a major business hub here in Fairfax County. We have "good problems to have" such as propertyand high expectations for Fairfax County Public Schools.  We also have real-world issues like homelessness and the recession.
