Fairfax Symphony Orchestra Pops Concert with Luke Frazier

FAIRFAX SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA POPS CONCERT
Free Performance held Thursday, July 31, part of Evenings on the Ellipse
Pops conductor Luke Frazier leads the acclaimed Fairfax Symphony Orchestra in an evening featuring highlights from the FSO's 2014-15 season, including favorites by Kerr, Gershwin, and Carmichael. Considered a
rapidly rising star in the pops world, Frazier has created two original
pops programs for the 2014-15 season. I'll
Be Seeing You
is an unfolding love story based on actual letters from Mr.
Frazier’s family written during World War II.   A Civil
War Portrait
guides the audience through the major campaigns of the Civil
War through music, narration, and carefully-curated photographs and features music

of the era, from Stephen Foster to Battle
Hymn of the Republic
, as well as popular Civil War era folk songs like Danny Boy and Annie Laurie.  The concert on the Ellipse is free and will be held from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. on the green lawn

behind the building (unless weather dictates they move indoors to the
lobby). There will be food trucks and wine tastings and attendees are
encouraged to bring picnic blankets and lawn chairs to taken in the
festivities.  While there you
can also pick up some fresh produce from the Government Center Farmers

Market, which will be located in the “front yard” parking lot.
