The Martin Luther King Jr., Cultural Foundation, Inc., of Reston, Virginia will  host a  “Celebration of Cultural Diversity”, on Jan. 26 at 3:00 PM at Artspace in Herndon, Virginia.  Featured at the special event will be members of the original Tuskegee Airmen who paved the way for African Americans to fully participate in the United States Armed Forces.  The free event is open to current members and partners and their guests.

The Foundation will use this event to kick-off its new “Members and Partners Program” and to thank existing members for their support over the past years. This new Program offers an opportunity for individ-uals and businesses to support the mission of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Cultural Foundation, Inc. on a continuous basis. Members will pay annual dues and will be encouraged to support the works of the Foundation.  They will receive members-only invitations to special events, such as the Tuskegee Airmen Forum.

The Foundation provides multi-cultural learning ex-periences for youth and families in order to enhance cross-cultural awareness in Northern Virginia and has awarded over 173 college scholarships to deserving students who demonstrate the potential to succeed and are willing to
strive toward making their dream of a college education a reality.  The Foundation also hosts an Annual Dream Maker’s Award Gala that acknowledges those who have committed themselves to a lifetime of achievement as agents of change and the Annual Educators Award honoring local individuals who have made significant contributions in the field of education.  Proceeds from the Foundation’s annual events go toward providing scholarships and other multi-cultural learning experiences for Northern Virginia youth.  The 2013 Dream Maker's Award Gala is scheduled for May 9th at the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner.
