This class plunges students much deeper into page layout capabilities in HTML using tables and frames. Students will also learn to create online forms and incorporate forms into Students attending this session will additionally participate in various class discussions and will learn from instructor’s real-world experience(s) – sound advice and counsel not often found in any books. Attendees will have access to a password-protected student workroom area and walk away with the ability to create more advanced web page layouts and concepts. Class will conclude with a brief overview of how HTML and CSS3 work together and how HTML 4 has evolved into HTML 5.


 


Working with Tables



  • Tables overview

  • Creating a simple table

  • Table widths

  • Working with columns, rows

  • Borders, colors, alignment(s)

  • Nesting tables

  • Class Discussion: Mapping out page layout(s) using tables




Working with Frames



  • Creating a simple frameset

  • Creating frames in columns

  • Creating frames in rows and columns

  • Hiding or showing scrollbars

  • Frame borders and colors

  • Targeting links in particular frames

  • Nesting framesets


STUDENT ASSIGNMENT

 


Working with forms (front end only)



  • Form elements (text boxes, radio buttons, checkboxes and more)

  • Submit buttons (default & image)

  • Resetting forms

  • Class Discussion: Online forms best practices




Course Level & Prerequisites


Intermediate II (previous class requirement: RMC Learning HTML 4 for Design & Development 100 & RMC Learning HTML 4 for Design & Development 101-A or equivalent experience to be approved in advance by course instructor).
