Environmental Film: In Transition 2.0

Join Sustainable Reston and Friends of Reston for the first environmental film of 2013 at Nature House:  In Transition 2.0 .  This new film takes us on a world trip to visit communities taking positive action to deal with the impacts of resource depletion, climate change, and external economic disruption. The Transition Town movement has grown exponentially since its inception about eight years ago.  Transition towns strive to meet many of the needs of citizens locally, from growing more food in gardens and public spaces to developing local currencies and local energy production.  In the wake of the damage caused by Superstorm Sandy, it's incumbent on us to look at local programs that contribute to community resilience.  Come out and join us for this film to see what other communities are doing.

Free, suggested tax deductible donation of $5 which goes to Sustainable Reston and Friends of Reston.  Please call Nature House at call 703-476-9689 or e-mail naturecenter@reston.org to make your reservation.
