Cheryl's Cookies and Cocktails

The holiday season can be stressful enough, so why not do yourself a favor this year, and ease that kitchen angst with a how-to that is both informative and delicious. On Saturday December 1st, throw on your chefs apron and head to favorite Reston spot, Community Canteen (11950 Democracy Drive) for Cheryl’s Cookies and Cocktails. At this interactive class, pastry chef Cheryl Strasser will give guests the inside scoop behind some of her favorite holiday treats and how to pair them with some satisfying holiday cocktails. Featuring a syllabus of sweets that incorporate spices, herbs and winter citrus, chef Cheryl will be demonstrating how to make Strawberry Red Wine and Mascarpone Cream Macaroons, Brown Butter Ginger Cookies, Berry Apple and Rosemary Shortbread Bars and Sea Salt and Thyme Chocolate Chunk. To perfectly complement these scrumptious treats, guests will also learn how to mix up colorful cocktails including a Blood Orange Tarragon Old Fashioned, a Lime and Basil Gin Fizz and a Speakeasy Grapefruit Punch.

Cost of the event is $25 per person, plus tax and gratuity. For more information or to purchase tickets, guests are encouraged to call Community Canteen at 703-707-0233
