Free Disaster Response Training: Community Emergency Response Team (CERT)

Are you prepared for disaster? The Fairfax County CERT program trains people to help themselves, their families, and their neighbors in the event of disaster. In 7 weeks of classroom and hands-on training, students learn disaster preparedness and response skills like fire suppression, light search and rescue, and disaster medical operations. The training is free to residents of Fairfax County 18 years and up. Students will receive a free backpack of response gear.

Training meets weekly for 7 weeks. There are two classes, each meeting from 7pm-10pm at the Fairfax County Fire & Rescue Academy:

* Tuesday nights, beginning Jan. 21
