Video Tutorial: How to Make Patch Work For You

It's free. It's easy. And your announcement will be posted on the site instantly and be included in the daily newsletter.

Reston Patch welcomes all of your press releases that are relevant to people living in these communities. As the editor, I want to let you in on a little secret: You don't have to ask me to post them.

You can do it yourself, right now.

Patch sites are designed in a way that is easy for users to post their own announcement. It's all good. We want you to tell everyone about the hair salon's pink hair fundraiser for cancer, the high school 5K, the PTA miniature golf outing, the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new business in town, the environmentalists' clambake fundraiser on the beach or the Eagle Scout's blood drive. Including a photo really makes a difference if you want to attract attention.

The announcement will go out with the newletter delivered early every morning. And if you uploaded a great photo, I will likely feature it on the front page.

Follow this video tutorial by Dixon Patch Editor  to see how to do this, step by step.

If you want to just skip the video and get started right now, go to the News Tab, choose Announcements, and look for that green button labeled "Annouce it to Everyone." Start filling in the form. Your announcement will be posted as soon as you hit "submit."

Thanks for contributing to Patch. And send this article to other folks in the community who could use this information! The well-read Eatontown-Tinton Falls Patch is a great place to post your news. And it's free.
