Reston Dentists Offering Cash for Candy

Halloween overload? Save your teeth and help others at candy buy backs.

What do do with that giant pile of Halloween candy?

Well, you could eat it. But if the idea of you (or your kids) gorging on sugar for the next month does not sit well, you can also donate the haul for a good cause.

Reston orthodontist Stephan Tisseront is hosting his seventh annual Halloween Candy Buy Back Event on Monday.

From 1 to 4 p.m., visit the office at 11720 Plaza America Dr. and trade your candy for cash while helping others.

Dr. Tisseront donates $2 per pound of candy - $ goes to you and $1 goes to Children's National Medical Center in Washington, DC.

All candy collected is then shipped overseas to US troops with notes written at a letter writing station at the event.

On Saturday at noon, Serenity Smiles of Reston will also be hosting a candy buy back.

Dr. Hoda Kazemifar and her team will collect candy and receive $1 per pound of candy up to a total of five pounds. The candy will also be sent to troops overseas. If you don't want the money, it will be donated to Operation Smile.

Reston Serenity Smiles is located at 11717 Bowman Green Dr. For more info, visit their website.
