Hunter Mill/Difficult Run Bridge Closed Through Nov. 21
VDOT installing a temporary bridge.
The Hunter Mill Road bridge over Difficult Run closed to traffic Saturday and will remain closed until Monday, Nov. 21 as the Virginia Department of Transportation replaces the corroded bridge with a temporary panel truss bridge.
The bridge is located between Hunter Station Road and Lawyers Road. A 3.2-mile detour route will be in effect.
Motorists heading north on Hunter Mill Road will take Lawyers Road to Twin Branches Road to Sunrise Valley Drive to Hunter Mill Road. Motorists heading south on Hunter Mill Road will use Sunrise Valley Drive to Twin Branches Road to Lawyers Road to Hunter Mill Road.

Plans for a permanent bridge are underway although the project is not funded for construction at this time, VDOT sais.
