Five Things to Know This Week

School on President's Day, basketball season still going.

1. School's in - Yes, it's President's Day, but due to previous snow days, Fairfax County Public Schools are in session today. That also means no early release Monday for elementary school students; they will be there a full day.

2. Fairway future - after several trips back to the drawing board, JBG Companies is expected to offer to the Reston Planning and Zoning Board  a new proposal for the future of Fairway Apartments.

The developer has suggested in to replace the 18 three-story apartment (348 units) into four multifamily buildings and 69 townhouses (951 units) located at Wiehle Avenue, Reston Parkway, Fairway Drive and North Shore Drive.

3. Play Ball - South Lakes' boys basketball team lost to Langley in the Liberty District final on Friday, but move on to host Falls Church in the Regionals Monday at 7 p.m.
