Fairway Presentation Postponed

New look at JBG's plans will wait till April.

JBG Companies, slated to present a new plan for the at a Monday meeting of the Reston Planning and Zoning Commission, has postponed its plan.

JBG's initial plans to turn 18 three-story apartment buildings with 348 units into four multifamily buildings, 69 townhouses and 951 units located at Wiehle Avenue, Reston Parkway, Fairway Drive and North Shore Drive was reviewed several times last year and eventually tabled by the Fairfax County Planning Commission.

A by the county planning and zoning department in July found many faults with the plans for Fairway. Among them: stress on nearby infrastructure, reduction in affordable housing and distance from future Metro stations.

JBG is expected to present a scaled-down version of its plans to the Reston Planning and Zoning commission. It is now on the agenda for the group's April meeting.
