Community Update

My daughter (now 18 months) has been at Common Ground since she was 12 weeks old. We LOVE Common Ground and recommend it to everyone. The teachers are amazing—highly qualified, loving, caring, and creative. The baby rooms keep the child to teacher ratio low, which ensures the kids get outstanding care and constant attention.

During my initial search for a child care center, some of the other centers that I toured in Reston and Herndon (especially the for-profit centers) had so many babies packed into tiny rooms and they felt terribly sterile and unwelcoming. As a parent, I knew I couldn’t leave my child in a place that I didn’t feel good about…even if the price was lower. And when I read the violations of some of the other centers, I realized the importance of selecting a well-established center with a solid reputation. As soon as we visited Common Ground and met the director, Kae Bieber, and teachers, I knew that I found the best center for my child. Going back to work after maternity leave was still hard, but I had full confidence in the center and its staff and that made all the difference.

Common Ground provides an environment where kids thrive because they are in a warm, loving atmosphere where they feel safe, nurtured, and loved. The center focuses on the well-being of the kids and their development rather than enrollment and profits, unlike many other centers in the area. Stop by to tour the center, meet the staff, and talk to some of the parents so you can see for yourself.
