Vinifera Wins 2014 Taste of Reston

Chef John-Michael's scallop sandwich takes home the gold.

Vinifera Wine Bar & Bistro won the coveted first-place title at The Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce's annual Taste of Reston over the weekend. Executive Chef John-Michael's innovative scallop sandwich made with celery root & pear mash, lemon zest, parsley oil and micro beet greens took home the grand prize.

Chef John-Michael joined the Vinifera team in December and has made quite a splash with his new spring menu. Guests can enjoy his scallop sandwich and signature foiejitas ™ — an inventive creation of foie gras, candied shallots, and red pepper rolled up in a nutmeg crepe served tableside, for dinner at Vinifera's bar, dining room or popular outdoor patio.
