Sale at Davelle Yields Large Charity Donation

Reston Town Center's Davelle Clothiers gives back with suits and money for Goodwill of Greater Washington

Davelle Clothiers donated $10,500 to Goodwill of Greater Washington, money raised from its recent Trade-In event.

The contribution last week from the menswear store at Reston Town Center represented five percent of the net sale proceeds during The Trade-In event (Oct. 15 to Nov. 4), where customers brought in their old suits and received discounts for new clothes.

"We are so pleased to be able to support Goodwill of Greater Washington’s work in transforming lives," said Davelle CEO David Eisele.

Goodwill of Greater Washington is in the midst of the Jobs in ‘12 campaign, a community-wide effort to put our region’s most vulnerable citizens back to work.  Their goal is to train, equip, and place 200 people into new local jobs.

The store also donated new suits to Goodwill, which will aid Goodwill customers who are looking for jobs, said Catherine Meloy, the nonprofit's president and CEO.

“Goodwill’s mission is to transform lives and communities through the power of education and employment”, said Meloy. “It is only as a result of the generous support of organizations like Davelle Clothiers that we are able to provide others with hope, dignity and independence.  The Trade-In event was a unique partnership that yielded a substantial contribution of both cash and donated goods that will ultimately lead to sustainable employment and a better quality of life for the people Goodwill serves.”

This donation was at my graduation at Goodwill for Security Officer training completion. It was so nice to hear Davelle speak and to see all the wonderful Goodwill staff so happy. I am one of those people that benefited from Goodwill! The training was close to $5000. per person provided by Goodwill. I now have a great resume that stands out, more confidence with interviewing ability, and 3 job interviews lined up with very interested employers! All thanks to the services they provide. Please don't think twice about donating to the Goodwill of Greater Washington, 10 S. Glebe Rd. Arlington.
Much love, Dawn Mutebi Reston, Va

It does not matter who is bringing this item to the forefront: rules should not be adjusted everyRead More time it is convenient. I seem to remember someone who just had to resign because they no longer lived in Reston. Not having been privy to all the politics in town, any adult with a functioning brain should have known or been told by their expert real estate agent, that the property being purchased was not within Reston boundaries and thereby disqualifying them from office within the established rules.
