Penn Station East Coast Subs: Looking at Reston Opening 'As Early as Next Week,' Owner Says

Love Philadelphia cheesesteaks? Get ready — Penn Station East Coast Subs could open as early as next week at 11652 Plaza America in Reston, according to Ben Aniba, one of its owners.

"If it were up to me, we'd be open already," he said Tuesday from Penn Station East Coast Subs in Haymarket, one of two Penn Station sub shops already open in Northern Virginia.

Aniba said, fingers crossed, he hopes to open the doors to the Reston location early next week, but is waiting on contractors and inspections by the Virginia Health Department.

The shop will take over the spot formerly occupied by Philadelphia Mike's. Penn Station is known for its Philly cheesesteaks, hand-cut fries and fresh lemonade.

Aniba noted that he and his business partners hope to open more than a dozen Penn Station sub shops in Northern Virginia in the next few years and are actively scouting locations.
