Now Open: Kiddie Academy of Reston

New childcare center will serve ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

There is a new option for Reston-area parents seeking childcare for their little ones.

Kiddie Academy of Reston, located at 12320 Pinecrest Road, Suite 150, opened its doors last week.

The new local outpost of the national childcare chain is owned by Rizwan and Ayesha Ali. Ayesha Ali switched left the tech industry to start a day care center in her home a few years ago when she could not find suitable childcare, Rizwan Ali says.

"The best child care facilities had waiting lists that extending out for months," he said. "She was soon able to start a child care facility from our basement and run it successfully with a waiting list of clients.  During this time she was able to get a sense of what parents in the area wanted out of a childcare facility."

With a new facility, the Alis' childcare operation will grow from 12 children to a capacity of 160. The Alis are expecting their third child later this month - so they will likely have their own child as a customer, Rizwan Ali said.
