Food, Family Fun at Taste of Reston

Annual event to bring out the best in culinary bites.

The festival runs Friday from 3 to 11 p.m. and Saturday from noon to 11 p.m. Admission is free,  but visitors will need Taste Tickets  to buy food. Taste Tickets are $1 per ticket or $20 for a sheet of 24 tickets. Each sample ranges from one to five  tickets. Taste Tickets will be sold at the event.

Taste of Reston is actually divided up into several festivals this year.

Carnival: In the surface lot of of New Dominion, there will be carnival rides.  Carnival hours are Friday, 3-11 p.m.; Saturday, noon to 11 p.m.; and  Sunday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday's carnival will be operating even though the rest of Taste of Reston ends Saturday.

 Carnival tickets will be available at the carnival and cost $1 per ticket or $20 for 24 tickets. Each ride requires three to five tickets to ride.

There is a Sunday special: $25 wristbands get you unlimited access to the carnival rides from 10:00 a.m.- 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Wristbands will be available at the Carnival, and are also available for $20 this week at  Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce office at 1763 Fountain Dr.

Family Fun Zone: The area at President's Street and Market Street will be the family fun zone, presented by the and the Greater Reston Chamber of Commerce.

The fun zone will feature crafts and other kid-friendly activities. It is open from 3 to 6 p.m. Friday and noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday.

Living Well Expo: On President's Street (facing Reston Parkway, near the Hyatt Regency) will be the Living Well Expo.

The Living Well Expo will feature a healthy living stage and a movement stage.

The stages will feature Zumba demonstrations from ; the Washington Redskins Cheerleaders leading a FIT Kids demonstration; and celebrity trainer Joel Harper. For a full stage schedule, click here.

Guns 'n Hoses Chili Cookoff - Who makes the best chili in Reston - the police officers or the fire department? Find out at the chili cookoff at the Taste of Reston Saturday on Library Street from 1 to 5 p.m. The winners will be announced at 4 p.m.
