Dinner Zen To Close in May

Make-your-own-meals place is at South Lakes Village Center.

the locally owned dinner assembly store at South Lakes Village Center, will close its doors in May.

"Dinner Zen and the meal assembly industry have changed dramatically from where it began," owner Jolie Crowder told regular patrons in an email. "While we seemingly weathered the toughest of economic times the last 3 years, sadly, an improvement in the economy just hasn't materialized for our business."

Dinner Zen opened at the height of the dinner assembly store trend. It became a crowded market, with franchises such as Dinner Done and Let's Dish opening nearby.

In May, the store will offer a limited menu and a limited number of Zen to Go pick up options in the first two weeks of the month. For delivery customers, it will be offering one delivery day in May in which all home deliveries will need to be scheduled.
