Business Watch: Northrop Grumman Plans Reston Layoff

End of contract means 52 jobs lost at end of November.

Northrop Grumman  announced Wednesday it will lay off 52 employees working in Reston, the Washington Business Journal reports.

The company filed a layoff notice to the Virginia Workforce Network, saying that the employees from the Intelligence Systems division within the Information Systems segment will lose their jobs by Nov. 29. because one of Northrop's contracts is coming to an end.

A Northrop Grumman spokesman said the layoff was unrelated to the federal shutdown.
