Whole Foods Reston Employee to be Featured on VH1 Compilation

Maxwell Breaux and his band Bravesoul will be on VH1's 'You Oughta Know' compilation CD.

Whole Foods Market Reston employee Maxwell Breaux, also a drummer for Bravesoul, a 3-piece alternative rock band, will be featured on a compilation CD from VH1.

In a first-time endeavor, VH1 has put together some of its alumni from its “You Oughta Know” franchise, including Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran, The Lumineers, Foster The People, Gotye on a compilation CD.

Bravesoul is a 3-piece alternative rock band from Los Angeles made up of members Marty Rod (guitars, keys and vocals), Eric Noble (bass) and Breaux (drums), who is a Whole Foods Market team member at the Reston store.

Bravesoul won a spot on the CD by winning the 2nd Annual Whole Foods Team Member Music Project.

Whole Foods Market invited its team members from across the nation to submit an original piece of music. Regional team member panels selected their favorites from 507 total entries, which were reviewed by a national team member panel, who then selected the top ten finalists for public voting.

Bravesoul emerged victorious and is named the winner of the 2nd Annual Whole Foods Market Team Member Music Project.

Their original song “If the Morning Ever Comes,” will be featured on the compilation CD, and they will perform at an upcoming VH1-sponsored concert event in March 2014 in Austin, Texas.

Managing to blend gritty, soulful vocals with beautiful atmospheres and an adventurous rock sound, they have been compared to modern bands such as Imagine Dragons, Kings Of Leon, Muse and Young The Giant.

Their songs are catchy but heavy, intelligent yet raw and filled with emotion.  Their new album, “The Infinite Hourglass,” will be released on Feb. 18.

"It's been an awesome experience being part of the competition,” Breaux said. “Lawrence, a co-worker of mine, just mentioned I should submit a song because he remembered I had a band. Next thing you know our song is being sold on a VH1 compilation in Whole Foods Market stores and we’ll have the opportunity to perform at a VH1 concert event."

The 13-track VH1 “You Oughta Know” Volume 1 features some of the popular “You Oughta Know” alumni artists  and many notable others.  VH1’s “You Oughta Know” Volume 1 will be available in Whole Foods Market stores nationwide in January 2014.
