'Nutcracker' Performances Begin Saturday

The holiday classic The Nutcraker returns to local stages in late November as two local ballet studios present their annual productions.

Herndon's Classical Ballet Theatre will have three performances Thanksgiving weekend.

Performances are at 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Ernst Community Cultural Center Theater at Northern Virginia Community College, 8333 Little River Turnpike in Annandale. 

Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.cbtnva.org/nutcracker. Military families, as well as Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, can call Kim Brummett at 703-471-0750 to obtain a password for discounted tickets. Brummett also schedules backstage tours for groups. 

Ticket prices are $25 for adults; $20 for seniors, students and children; $18 for military families, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts 

Tickets for Reston's Conservatory Ballet's production of The Nutcracker go on sale Nov. 23 for performances Dec. 5- 9 at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods.

 Evening Performances:

• Wednesday, Dec. 5 at 7:00 p.m.
• Thursday, Dec. 6 at 7:00 p.m.
• Friday, Dec. 7 at 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 8 at 2:30 p.m.
• Saturday, Dec. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
• Sunday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m.
• Tickets are $22.00 for adults and $17.00 for youth (12 & under)

Shortened Performances at the Reston Community Center:

• Saturday, Dec. 8 at 11:00 a.m.
• Sunday, Dec.  9th at 12:00 p.m.
• Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $15.00 for youth (12 & under)
