Herndon Dedicates Downtown Mural at Festival

The giant mural depicting historical Herndon scenes on the side of the Nachman Building in downtown Herndon was officially dedicated at the opening of Herndon Festival on Thursday.

The three artists who created it are Bobby Moore, Erick Ricks and Dan Roncesvalles. The scene includes the train that used to run through on the W&OD Trail, cheerleaders at Homecoming and more.

The project got its start when the Nachman family offered up the wall for a possible mural. Shortly after Moore contacted the Council for the Arts of Herndon and asked if they had a wall that he could paint. The project began in April and was finished in May.
