Today's Pakistani Woman, from barred doors to the height of power

The Chez Nous Reston Salon March 27th meeting discussion will highlight the spectrum of opportunity afforded to Pakistani women today, depending on their place of birth, economic and family status, educational opportunities, etc., from widespread victimization and human rights abuses to hard-working management, to fashionable upper classes and the possibility to attain the power of leadership.

Author Jacqueline St. Joan will read from her first novel,  My Sisters Made of Light about the coming of age of three Pakistani sisters growing up in contemporary Pakistan.  Co-discussants will be Nuchhi Currier, President Woman's National Democratic Club (Pakistani) and Lisa Curtis, South Asia policy adviser-The Heritage Foundation.

Jacqueline's book as well as jewelry and scarves created by a Pakistani artist will be on sale.
