Reston Contra Dance
Contra dancing is done in parallel lines, with partners standing opposite each other. A caller teaches every dance carefully before the dance is done to music. The June Apple Band is the house band for the Reston Contra Dance, which is open to all ages and levels of experience. There is a new dancers' workshop at 7:15, and the dance starts at 8:00. No partner is needed; the custom is to change partners after each dance. Goodies for the break are appreciated. (The band provides juice.) Dances are usually held four times a year on the second Saturday of November, January, February, and March. See our Facebook page.
