Don't have to be a couple to enjoy Valentine's treats.

The weekend is just around the corner, as is Valentine's Day. These activities focus on the senses (and chocolate!) and you don't need a "plus one" to enjoy them.  

Whoooo are You? Owl Prowl

Where/When: Thursday, Feb. 10 7:00 pm – 8:30 p.m.

Why go? Outside at night, with a bright moon, looking for owls with a wildlife rehabilitator from the Raptor Conservancy.

Where/When: Jammin Java in Vienna  Thursday Feb. 10  8 p.m.

Why Go? It’s not often SGGL (Rusty Speidel, Tom Goodrich, Michael Goggin and Michael Lille) all play together and in such an intimate setting.  If you are a fan, or have heard great things about SGGL, jump at the chance to see them at Jammin Java.  

Pricing: $25

 

Cupcake Ladi is Open for Business

Where/when: – Grand Opening Friday, Feb. 11 at 1 p.m.(Store hours - Monday, 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.;  Tuesday, 1 p.m to 6 p.m.;  Wednesday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, 2 p.m.to 6 p.m.; Friday, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Saturda,   12:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.; Sunday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.)

Why Go?  She’s been in the cupcake biz for a while, delighting people with her delish creations -  now you can stop in and try one yourself.  Tell the Cupcake Ladi that the Patch folks say "Hi!"

Coffee House Returns    

Where/When:   Friday, Feb. 11 at 8:00 p.m.

Why Go? Comfortable place, great people, laid back atmosphere – what better way to distress from a busy week? Poets and performers including Ken Greenway, Rick Hill and Scott Mayyszca

Pricing: $5 gets you in – and refreshments too

Where/When:  ( 1041 Sterling Rd, Herndon) Saturday, Feb. 12 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why go?  This event sounds like  sensory overload, but in a good way:   an afternoon of delicious partner yoga filled with yummy stretches, mouth-watering partner assisted treats, and Thai Massage ambrosia. Bring a friend or come alone. All levels welcome.

 Pricing: Individual: $35,  Pair: $60

Chocolate for Charity 

Where/WhenFloris United Methodist Church (Herndon), Saturday, Feb. 12 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why go? Indulge in chocolate and feel good about it - proceeds from the event supporting various worthwhile charities. The whol family will enjoy games, inflatables, a silent auction, food, a raffle, card making, and, of course, chocolate. (Donate a package of diapers for one free raffle ticket)
