Why Go? Perfect night to cross the border to Margaritaville. B2B (a Jimmy Buffet Tribute band ) and South Bay will make you forget all about the heat. Meet up with friends and make a night of it.

Where/When? on Saturday, June 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Why Go? Cycling fans – and fans of superhuman feats – will come together to cheer on the riders in Stage 20, the final mountain stage. Special menu prepared by Mon Ami Gabi – and drawing for a Trek 7.3 FX Hybrid bike (entry is free). Co-sponsored by

Lopez Spotlight Talent Competition at Jammin’ Java

Where/When? (227 Maple Ave. E, Vienna) on Saturday, July 23 at 1:30 p.m.

Why Go? Eight local vocalists will compete in American Idol style for a chance to go to the American Idol Season 11 auditions. Three judges will give their feedback, but each audience member votes for their favorite singer from Reston’s

Pricing? $25 in advance, $30 at the door

 

Where/When? on Saturday, July 23 at 7:00 p.m.

Why Go? Hot Latin beat of Incendio will get the Town Center crowd up and dancing.

Where/When?  I-66 Transfer Station (4618 W Ox Rd, Fairfax) on Sunday, June 24 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go? Time to purge the dead, dying or past their prime electronics. The environmentally cool thing to do is to drop them off at this Electronic Recycling event.  Helpful folks there will give you a hand unloading.

Where/When? on Sunday, July 24 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go? Lost Dog and Cat Rescue will bring adorable adoptable puppies and kittens and dogs and cats to the Reston PetSmart. Consider opening your heart and home to one (or two) of these wonderful animals.

Where/When? on Monday, July 25 from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Why Go? Sit in with the . Classical musicians, of all ages and all abilities,  are welcome to join the Reston Community Orchestra in open rehearsals.  (A joint venture of Reston Orchestra and McLean Symphony with Dingwall Fleary, Music Director.)

Pricing? $10; students $5 (Please RSVP to the Reston Community Orchestra and include the instrument you play.)
