Weekend Pick: Home 4 the Holidays

Wonderful dogs who need homes will be at Reston Town Center.

Your new four-legged best buddy could be waiting for you at the on Saturday, Nov. 5 at the 8th Annual Home 4 the Holidays (sponsored by NovaDog magazine and presented by GoodDogz.org) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Over 40 rescue groups, with all kinds of dogs (purebreds and those of less specific heritage), will be on hand to help make sure the dogs will have a place to call home.

The Reston Home 4 the Holidays is part of a larger national campaign, sponsored by The Iams Company and the Helen Woodward Animal Center. Last year, over 1 million dogs were connected with homes across the country.

In Reston, in addition to the big adoption effort, pet friendly vendors and entertainment will be on hand for all participants. Special guests Santa Paws and Spot will be available for cute photo opportunities.

In addition to Saturday’s Home 4 the Holidays, the Reston Town Center will be bustling all weekend with two different art events. Also, the ice rink is now up and running for the season.

  • , an exhibit at ,  will open with a reception with special guest Craig Kausen, Chuck Jones’ grandson, on Sunday, Nov. 6 from 12 p.m to 4 p.m.  Chuck Jones’ original art will be on display at ArtInsights through Dec. 4.
