Silver Line Countdown: Express Bus Service to Dulles

Service will replace Orange Line shuttle beginning July 26.

When Metro's Silver Line begins service on July 26, riders are going to have an express bus service to Washington Dulles International Airport.

Phase 2 of the Silver Line will eventually bring trains to the airport area. Until then, an express bus will shuttle air passengers from the airport to the Wiehle-Reston East station. The bus fares will be $5. Tickets can be purchased at the airport.

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority notes this wall replace the existing airport bus service to Orange Line's West Falls Church station.

"The Silver Line Express will provide passengers with a direct, speedy connection to Dulles Airport, with buses operating every 15 minutes during weekday peak hours and every 20 minutes off-peak," the authority states in a release.
