Real estate blog Movoto has named Reston the seventh best city in Virginia, tied with Chantilly.

Movoto is a California-based real estate research blog that ranks cities on various factors using data.

They analyzed the best cities in Virginia based on amenities per person, cost of living, crime, household income, diversity, and other factors (you can read their full report and methodology on their website).

Reston's seventh place finish is a result of "its median household income of almost $100,000."

See how other nearby cities ranked:

1. Centreville
2. Tysons Corner
3. McLean
4. Annandale
5. Oakton

Tied with Chantilly for the No. 7 spot. Not sure I entirely agree with the methodology chosen, but, Reston should be proud being recognized once again.

The criteria seem to be median income and crime rate. The promise of safety and rich neighbors does not measure the value of community or amenities (have you ever tried to walk across 28?). I prefer Reston, especially the fact that I can walk out of my door and spend the day on the wooded paths with my dogs without crossing many streets, and yet the area is fairly densely developed. We have a remarkable resource.

Very hard to take this seriously given that Centreville- which has NO center was number 1!
