RCC's Diva Central Needs Your Dresses

Give your party clothes new life by letting them go to the prom.

Have a prom dress, bridesmaid dress, or other party clothes taking up space in your closet? Give them new life at the prom.

Reston Community Center's annual Diva Central Dress Drive is underway. The community center is collecting items that high school students can use for free to attend their school's gathering.

The drive needs:

  • Handbags
  • Scarves and Shawls
  • Accessories

RCC has been sponsoring Diva Central since 2003. Its mission is to promote confidence and self-esteem by providing high school students a free prom dress and other accessories.

Please drop off donations at Reston Community Center Hunters Woods between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m. daily through March 4.

The items will be available to teens April 6 at Reston Community Center Lake Anne.

RCC asks that donations are are in good condition, no older than 5 years old and dry-cleaned before they are donated. "If dry cleaning is not possible please inform us at the time of drop-off," it says.

Dress donations will benefit students in Fairfax County and other surrounding areas and donations are tax deductible.
