Power Outage Affects Reston Tuesday

Update, Tuesday 3:47 p.m.

A Dominion Virginia Power spokesman said the outage was caused by an equipment failure at the Reston substation. Power to all 2,766 affected customers was restored by 3:45 p.m., he said.

A power outage began affecting Reston about 2:50 p.m. on Tuesday.

Traffic lights are out in the Sunrise Valley/South Lakes/Reston Parkway area as well as in North Reston. Dominion maps show more than 2,000 customers without power.
