UPDATE: Power Back On at Hundreds of Reston Homes

Dominion estimates power will be restored between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

UPDATE Wednesday 11:50 a.m.: Power is back on at hundreds of homes in Reston that lost power Wednesday morning. A Dominion Electric outage map shows no outages currently in the area.

As snow is falling Wednesday morning across Northern Virginia, more than 600 homes in Reston are without power according to a Dominion Electric outage map. The cause of the outage is under investigation as of 8:20 a.m.

Temperatures in the area are hovering near 30 degrees.

There are 629 homes without power.

The homes that are affected Wednesday morning are in two clusters. One cluster of 421 outages is located along Reston Parkway, between Sunrise Valley and Fox Mill Road. The other cluster is 208 homes off of Lawyers' Road.

Last night, hundreds of homes were without power in the Great Falls area due to problems with equipment; those homes saw power restored overnight.

Dominion estimates power will be back on in Reston between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
