The National Weather Service on Thursday afternoon issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the entire Northern Virginia region.
The watch covers Arlington County, Fairfax County, Loudoun County, Prince William County, Fredericksburg, Alexandria, Manassas and Manassas Park. It also covers the District of Columbia.
The watch is in effect until 9 p.m.
