Local Rescue Dogs Check Out USPS' New Stamp

USPS unveils four new stamps honoring rescue dogs at Merrifield.

“Banks” cleared his busy schedule Friday to leave work a little early to go see the unveiling of stamps honoring his brethren in the rescue dog business.

The United States Postal Service unveiled four new stamps celebrating the work rescue and help dogs. The “Dogs at Work” series is now on sale for 65-cents each.

“I think it’s incredible,” said Teresa MacPherson, a canine search specialist with the Fairfax County Urban Search and Rescue Team/Task Force 1. MacPherson is also Banks’ handler. “It’s a big deal. We don’t do our jobs for the recognition.”
