Rain has been falling steadily in Reston and Herndon since Sunday evening. The worst of Hurricane Sandy is expected to hit our area later on Monday.
As of mid-day Monday, it was a lot of hunkering down. Schools are closed, as is the county and federal government. Many stores are shuttered, though the several Reston-area Starbucks and some restaurants appear open for now. Metro bus and rail service is shut down, and most flights from Washington-area airports are delayed or canceled.
To report downed trees on Reston Association property, please call the RA main number (703-435-6530) or e-mail Central Services at CSFstaff@reston.org.
