Herndon's Katz Wins Twitter Shorty Award

High school junior's pop culture parodies, insights gain more kudos.

Zach Katz, the Herndon High School junior whose parody of pop singer  on YouTube in the last two weeks, has earned another Internet honor.

Katz, 16, won a Twitter Shorty award in New York City Monday. Katz won the "Weird" Category for his @OMGidothistoo feed, which has nearly 195,000 followers.

OMGidothistoo is mostly teen msuings such as:

The third annual Shorty Awards - called "The Oscars of Twitter" by The New York Times were held at The Times Center.  Finalists were nominated by Twitter readers, and winners were determined  by a combination of popular vote and by the members of the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences.

Acceptance speeches were, of course, limited to 140 characters.
