Fairfax Hunt Club Owner Submits Proposal for Option to Develop Land

The property sits on 8 bucolic acres adjacent to Lake Fairfax.

The owner of the Fairfax Hunt Club in Reston would like the option to develop the land, according to an online proposal submitted to Fairfax County by Robert P. Hostler.

Located at 1321 Lake Fairfax Dr., the historic property is currently used for weddings, picnics, holiday parties and other festive occasions.

The property sits on 8 bucolic acres adjacent to Lake Fairfax. The property includes a log home that was moved from Vienna to the spot.

JR's Custom Catering, headquartered in Herndon, caters events at Fairfax Hunt Club, according to the hunt club site.

The submission notes:

  • "This property is currently designated as Private Recreational. The property is currently zoned R-E and the Owner would like to include an option in the Plan for residential with a designation of R-1."
  • "The Owner, Fairfax Hunt, Inc., is considering relocating its operations and desires to have the option for this property to be converted to residential as are the surrounding properties."
