Dreaded 'Wintry Mix' Headed for Reston Saturday?

Snow, rain and sleet all in the forecast.

In case the patches of grass showing through the melted snow has got you down, don't worry, they may fill in very soon.

Here's the National Weather Service forecast for Reston tomorrow:

  • Snow before 1 p.m., then rain and sleet. High near 35. East wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Saturday night: rain, mainly before 3am. Low around 33. East wind 5 to 7 mph becoming west after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 90 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Jason Samenow of the Capital Weather Gang says he's expecting "poor man’s version of last Sunday’s snow, ice and rain event with fewer disruptions."
