Lake Anne Plan, Jewish Holiday, School Graffiti Issue and Fires

News to know for Wednesday, Sept. 4.


1. Lake Anne Development Partners will be revealing its plans for Crescent Apartments at an open house on Sept. 16 at 7 p.m. at Reston Community Center Lake Anne. 

LADP (Republic Land Development) was chosen by Fairfax County in July to redevelop the aging 16-acre site near Lake Anne Plaza.

2. The Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah, starts at sundown Wednesday. Read more here. L'Shana Tova if you celebrate.

3. There were two house fires in Reston on Monday. Read about one intentionally set here and one that was started by an attic fan here.

4. There was also a small fire at Langston Hughes Middle School Tuesday morning. The fire began in a vending machine about 10:45 a.m. The school was cleared and classes resumed by 11 a.m.
