Hooray for our delegate voting against disclosure. Stop being so knee jerk about news when statistics show a) compared to other means of injury and demise, gun danger is extremely low for any person who does not partake in a criminal lifestyle, and b) that if guns were banned then they would still be out on the street. Sensible gun regulations already exist. That said - I am truly sorry about your brother. That is horrible.

Candidate Murphy's position on guns is right on and in step with the citizens of the 34th District. Barbara Comstock, the incumbent, marches with those who confuse the interests of the NRA (gun manufacturers) with the protections of the 2nd Amendment.

The things Murphy supports.. universal background checks, limits on high-capacity magazines, and meaningful laws against gun trafficking.. will not keep guns from the criminals that do violence such as happened in Connecticut. However these things will have a major impact on the second admendment rights of law abiding citizens which she "says" she supports. How is that supporting second admendment rights as opposed to mere window dressing that capitalizes on the recent horrific crimes by nut cases?

Alternatively, why not advocate simply support enforcing the laws we already have on the books?

Why is enforcing existing laws always overlooked by the left? And why do they think laws have anything to do with criminals? In Chicago, Detroit, and DC they do not enforce the laws and see what they get.

What I find curious is the concern the anti gun people have for their cause, but a strange lack of interest in the facts surrounding their cause. There is much, much information on the internet that will answer their questions. Like Java here asking about existing laws. I made one small google search, (What gun laws are not being enforced?), and found a great deal of information. It never occurred to Java to make that search for himself and post his results here. The discussion of guns is almost non existent. There are many hand wringing, tearful posts about the evil guns, but when the facts are posted suddenly the discussion goes silent and all the Antis disappear.

BTW if the laws had been enforced the Virginia massacre never would have happened as the shooter would not have been able to legally purchase a firearm.

*Virginia Tech, the shooter was deemed by the courts to be mentally unstable and he was not supposed to be able to buy a firearm. He did anyway because his somehow his background check didn't catch that fact.
*Salon Gun Store It took the feds 3 years to take down a beauty salon/gunstore owner for failing to keep firearm transaction records. Her husband was charged with selling guns without an FFL, he was a felon who had previous charges of being in possession of a gun. The husband was illegally selling firearms at gun shows.
*Why is Eric Holder not in a Federal Prison? He handed guns over to Mexican cartels in the "Fast and Furious" program. We aren't supposed to talk about it.
*In Reno people who failed their background checks still have their weapons because the BATFE doesn't have enough agents to go confiscate them. Eric Holder and the ATF have no comment.
*In New York the firefighter "sniper" being a felon, could not legally buy guns. So he had his next door neighbor buy them for him. The neighbor is being charged for making straw purchases. Sadly this happened after the fact and it would be hard to actually know this. Not really a good example of laws not being enforced but it was a broken law."
