Create awareness in your community for the issues you believe need attention – take this election time to be heard. Running for director on the Reston Association Board gives you a platform to further YOUR ideas and priorities for this community you call home.
• What is important to you?
• What problems do you believe need priority?
• Want to gather more information to test your solutions?
Whatever the outcome, many candidates have a payoff of positive outcomes:
a) their vision for RA got traction among a larger community audience
b) their ideas influenced the sitting Board both directly and indirectly in deciding issues
c) they gathered more information to support and refine the solutions they proposed
During the RA election, far more of the community is listening than at other times of the year. Sitting directors are approachable. As a director*, I know I am not alone in welcoming candidates over coffee to chat – coffee with candidates is something of a tradition.
Shape the community you call home. Run for a seat as RA Director.
