Take a Lunchtime Walk to End Homelessness

Reston Interfaith, Mayflowers teaming up for noon walk on Thursday.

The first of a series of fall Walks to End Homelessness takes place Thursday at Reston Town Center.

Mayflowers and Reston Interfaith are sponsoring a noon walk from the floral studio to the Embry Rucker Community Shelter. Reston Interfaith is encouraging local businesses - along with individuals -to get involved with the cause.

RI has a goal of engaging 4,000 residents at a series of events. Herndon and South Lakes high school students will be holding mini walks on Oct. 11, 12 and 13, including walks as part of the schools' homecoming parades.

The ninth annual Help the Homeless Walk will take place as part of Festival on the Square on Oct. 14 at 1:30 p.m. For more details, click here.
