Speak Out: Does Path Crime Worry You?

Police report four robberies and assaults on Reston paths since June 1. Will you change your habits?

Fairfax County Police said on Friday they are investigating four robbery and assault incidents that took place on Reston Association bike paths in the last two weeks.

Two of the assaults were near Hunters Woods. One was near Pinecrest Road. The third was near North Shore in the Lake Anne area.

In January, a woman jogger reported being sexually assaulted on the W & OD trail in Reston.

Reston has about 55 miles of trails that are used daily by residents for walking, biking, or from getting to place to place.

Most people use the trails without incident, and, police have said in the past that reported crimes often go up in the spring.
