Soapstone's Reston Cleaners Closing Monday

If you have clothes at the store, you will want to pick them up soon.

Reston Cleaners, located at 2235 Soapstone Dr., will close on Monday, April 30, the store's owner said.

The owner says he has lost his lease. Workers were already removing dry cleaning equipment from the store on Saturday. However, the clothes from many customers remain.

Owner Kyung Ju, who has operated the store for more than 10 years, says the clothes will be moved to a van in the parking lot near the store. He will remain on site so customers can get their clothes, he said.

He wants customers to know that he just found out about losing the lease this week, so he is sorry for the short notice.

Customers can also contact him at 571-344-8495 to arrange pickup.

I am still trying to get a hold of the landlord, so I don't have an answer on that just yet. I would bet nothing that soon because that building needs a lot of work.

Sounds as though sympathy for the dry cleaner is in order. Can't be an easy thing for him. Life sure can be hard.

I was out of town and just went to pick up my clothes today and found the store closed and empty. I tried the number above and got no answer and no voice mail box. I hope to get my clothes back, but now doubt it. Yes, they were nice people and I preferred using a locally owned business rather than a chain like Crest.

Actually, i got a call from them right after I posted this and they had a van today for anyone who still had clothing to pik up, so I got my stuff. I felt really sad for these nice people!
