Reston Volunteers Nominated for County Awards

Annual Fairfax County Volunteer Awards Ceremony is Thursday.

Several Restonians are among the nominees for Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards.

The 21st annual awards will be be given out on Thursday at a ceremony at the Waterford in Springfield.

The awards are sponsored by Volunteer Fairfax and the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

  •  Heritage Fellowship Church volunteered at Reston Interfaith, Fairfax County Nurturing Parent Program, and other non-profit organizations and have been nominated for the Adult Volunteer Group Award.
  • Keller Williams Realty Reston volunteered at Reston Interfaith, and has been nominated for the Corporate Volunteer Program Award.

 

  • Emily Ward volunteered at Reston Interfaith, and has been nominated for the Lifetime Achievement Award.

  • Mike Sneed volunteered at Reston Interfaith and The Closet, and has been nominated for the Rising Star Award and Benchmark 250 Award.

  • Gordon Gerson volunteered at Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, and has been nominated for the Senior Volunteer Award.

  • Ruth Schrott volunteered at Reston Interfaith, and has been nominated for the Senior Volunteer Award and Benchmark 250 Award.

  • Fairfax Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) has been nominated for the Volunteer Program Award.

  • Sarah Samuel volunteered at FACETS, and has been nominated for Benchmark 250 Award.

 

  • Vince Sescoe volunteered at Northern Virginia Family Services, and has been nominated for Benchmark 250 Award.

  • Angela Marcela Arias Gaitan volunteered at American Diabetes Association and Lions Core 4 Diabetes Project and has been nominated for the Intégrate Individual Award.
  • Stuart Rakoff will also be honored as Reston's Community Champion.

The Fairfax County Volunteer Service Awards honors volunteers who are dedicated to improving life in Fairfax County.
