Reston's Absentee Ballot Center Now Open

Voters can cast a ballot through Nov. 3 at North County Human Services Building.

Can't make it to the polls? Reston's absentee voting satellite center opens on Wednesday, Oct. 17.

The center is located at the North County Human Services Building, 1850 Cameron Glen Dr.

Please make note, this is a different location than in past years when absentee voting was in the Fairfax County Police's Reston District Station.

Satellite locations will be open through Nov. 2, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. weekdays and Saturdays, Oct. 20 and 27, and Nov. 3,  from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

You may vote absentee, either by mail or in person, if you are unable to go to the polls on Election Day because you:

•are a student or the spouse of a student attending a school outside Fairfax County
•will be away from Fairfax County on business
•will be working and commuting for 11 or more hours between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m.
•will be away from Fairfax County on personal business or vacation
•are unable to go to the polls because of illness or disability (see below for physical disability or illness)
•are pregnant
•are the primary caretaker of a confined family member
•have a religious obligation
•are confined awaiting trial
•are confined having been convicted of a misdemeanor
•are an election official
•are on active duty in the military outside Fairfax County
•are the spouse or dependent residing with a member of the military outside Fairfax County

If you live in Fairfax but work in DC, MD, the Cities of Alexandria, Fairfax or Falls Church or the Counties of Arlington, Loudoun, Prince William or anywhere other than Fairfax County, you can vote in-person absentee. Check Box 1C.

Almost everybody in Fairfax County can vote early, vote in person absentee.

With traffic making it impossible to predict how long it will take to get home from work in order to vote, this opportunity to vote on a convenient day is critical! I have already cast my vote using the in-person absentee system. Thanks for sharing this information!

At the Reston satellite location, the heaviest day so far was on Friday, Oct. 27, and no voter had to wait more than 20 minutes. Most were in and out faster than that.
