RA Board Member Richard Chew Withdraws From Election

Election for two spots to be held March 7-April 1.

At-Large board member Richard Chew said on Monday that he has withdrawn his name from the upcoming election for one of two open board seats.

Chew has been an at-large director for three years and held several other volunteer and committee member positions with RA.

He said that family commitments made him reconsider after initially filing paperwork last week.

"My decision has been made easier because of the quality of this year’s board candidates," Chew wrote in an e-mail. "We are fortunate to have a diverse field of candidates, including many new faces, and I am confident that RA Members will elect strong candidates."

 Cheryl Beamer (Hunters Woods/ Dogwood) will seek another three-year term on the RA Board. Also in the race: Jason Carlo, Sridhar Ganeshan, Andrew Sigle (all at-large),  John George (at-large) , Victor Van Rees (Hunters Woods/Dogwood) and Donovan D'Souza (at large).

The candidates will participate in public forums:  11 a.m. on Feb. 26 and 7 p.m. on Feb. 28.
