Now Open in Reston: Chipotle and Nikko
Two new restaurants welcomed first customers Tuesday.
Two new restaurants opened their doors in Reston on Tuesday.
The highly anticipated Chipotle Mexican Grill at South Lakes Village Center - in walking distance to South Lakes High School and Langston Hughes Middle School - opened for businesses and there was already a line of burrito lovers at lunchtime.
The South Lakes location, the third one in Reston, is open daily 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Over at Plaza America, Nikko Sushi & Hibachi is also now serving. The family-owned restaurant has a sushi bar as well as grilled habachi favorites and noodle bowls.
Nikko is located at 11730 Plaza America Drive #105 (next to The Melting Pot). The restaurant is open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays.

So sad that we lose the smaller gems and end up with yet one more Chipotle. Teocalli Tamale, the taco truck at Baron Cameron and Rt 7. Another truck used to park at the South Lakes soccer field on the weekends (haven't seen it for at least a year). And while different, a great pollo place over in Herndon behind the Bank of America (leaving us with Guapo's - though small hope with Pollo Peru at Home Depot).

Thank goodness that flea bag truck at SL Park is gone. The only thing that roachmobile seemed to attract was cockroachs, beer bottles and concert level, heavily distorted Mariachi from roachmobile speakers.

The Burrito Apocalypse takes parking into consideration.
It's always crowded at South Lakes during peak hours, and always has been. Plenty of parking available during the rest of the day, however, so there's no reason to stay away for too long. Certain other Reston shopping centers should be so successful!

Had lunch at Nikko today. Did not realize it was their 1st day. It was excellent and I look forward to going back.
